About 80% of
laws passed in national parliaments of the EU Member
States are affected by EU directives and regulations.
From this perspective, it is crucial for representatives
of the Slovak business sector to monitor and to participate
in the processes implemented in the EU. PAS conducts
its activities towards the EU institutions on two different
platforms:
In early 2007, PAS established its own
representation in Brussels as a part of the project
Monitoring and influencing euro-legislative. The aim
of this activity is to monitor the latest trends in
European policies with significant impact on the Slovak
business environment and to promote the interests of
Slovak businesses and entrepreneurs in the EU.
In 2006, PAS acquired representation in
the European Economic and Social Committee, a consultative
body to the European Commission and European Parliament.
This enables direct access to the process of European
directives preparation and the opportunity to actively
influence their content.
